Sharpened at Both Ends

First in a series of classic literature book cover illustrations I intend to do over the next while: the 1954 masterpiece from William Golding, Lord of the Flies.

It was fun getting reference for this drawing. I had to order a conch shell on eBay, and I bought a cheap pair of magnifying glasses from the shop down the road. Then I dropped a big rock on them and took a bajillion photos of the carnage.
